This is a great family restaurant. I love Peruvian food and can proudly say that this restaurant has an excellent Lomo Saltado and an excellent Pollo Saltado. The rice and papas fritas (side orders) were also well made and good! As I used to go to El Chalan in DC, which has now closed, I was lamenting the loss of large photos from Peru, and was delighted that this restaurant also has these large, amazing photos. I am very happy with Las Palmeras. I will definitely go again!

Just discovered this Peruvian restaurant in a plaza offering many Latin American cuisines. We have been searching for Peruvian closer to home since our DC favorite, the famed El Chalan, closed its doors this winter. While Palmeras reminds me more of a canteen, so the presentation is informal, the flavors are undeniably delicious- we returned for a second meal this week, added the daily special and a chicken soup to our Lomo and Milanese standards and once again, felt full and happy with our food. While El Chalan was the place for impressing friends from out of town, Palmeras is the spot to go if you are in the mood for home-cooking, the simple comfort of stews, soups, and braised meats with noodles or rice. Special thanks to the waitress who helped me carry several bags of take- out a distance to my car- I could not have managed transporting a large order on my own, and am grateful for the kind and thoughtful assistance, going above and beyond.

Delicious food. Portions are huge! Price is very good. On weekends they have specials, seco de cordero is my favorite special. On weekdays they have regular menu. I recommend the ceviche and tallarin verde con apanado. Great for big groups.
